The Board of St Michael Abbey School confirms that Mr Robert Ford will be stepping down as Founding Headteacher at the end of this half-term, for personal family medical reasons.

Since joining the project in early 2025, Mr Ford has played a key role in guiding the school through its establishment phase and preparing it for a successful opening this autumn. The Board is deeply grateful for his leadership, professionalism and contribution to building a strong foundation for the school’s future.

From half-term, Miss Deborah House, Deputy Head Academic, will serve as Interim Headteacher, supported by our strong senior leadership team. This arrangement ensures continuity for pupils, families and staff.

We extend our warmest thanks to Mr Ford for his contribution and send he and his family our best wishes at this difficult time.
