Frequently Asked Questions

Do you offer school transport?
Transport is provided to and from school, during term-time.

Day students who live in Worcestershire, Shropshire and Herefordshire can catch our school bus from dedicated collection points, during allocated times. Boarding students are entitled to termly return journey transfers between the nearest airport or train station and the school. Transport costs are included in the tuition fees. This does not include transport for school trips and international travel.

What are the menu options of your school meals?
All students have access to school meals while on campus, with a changing menu of vegetarian and meat dishes.

Please inform [email protected] if a student has special dietary requirements. Day students are given lunch and boarding students are given 3 meals per day (breakfast, lunch and dinner). Costs of school meals are included in the tuition fees and do not include snacks.

What accreditations are awarded to your subjects?
St Michael Abbey School provides a wide range of GCSE and A-Level courses, all of which are accredited by relevant British exam boards.

Depending on the subject, these are awarded by AQA, Pearson Edexcel, OCR and WJEC.

What extra curricular activities do you offer?
We offer a range of fun activities for students to do outside of school hours.

Depending on the activity, these will take place on campus and at the premises of our educational partners. Extra curricular activities include sports coaching, music classes, performing arts, adventuring and much more.

What enrichment subjects do you offer?
We have a changing provision of enrichment subjects which Year 12 and Year 13 students are encouraged to do, in addition to their A-level subjects.

From foreign languages, to crafts, enrichment subjects foster unique talents, creativity and teamwork. Any Year 12 and Year 13 student can join any enrichment subject, regardless of prior experience.

Do boarding students need guardians?
Boarding students are required to have a UK-based guardian, who is over the age of 18, is not in education and can be contacted in-case of emergency.

Students are allowed to stay with their guardian during school holidays. Parents can appoint a relative, family friend or an external guardian certified by the Boarding Schools Association by visiting www.boarding.org.uk/bsa-initiatives/bsa-certified-guardian-scheme.

International students are required to seek support from dedicated Agents or similar organisations to process the visas required to study in the UK.
